Since 1889, the family-owned Conrad Schmitt Studios has been privileged to provide decoration, restoration and artwork to enhance the worship environment of churches throughout the country, including more than twenty-five cathedrals.

For projects in the early stages, CSS offers consultations, design renderings, decorative samples and budgetary estimates for use in planning and fundraising. For historic restorations, our conservators investigate and document original paint colors and decoration to guide the restoration work.

CSS employs a permanent staff of highly experienced artists and artisans who conduct ornamental plaster work, decorative painting, stenciling, trompe l’oeil and interior and exterior gilding. CSS artists also continually create, conserve, restore and replicate stained glass, murals, mosaics and statuary. CSS has a 119-year history of service to the Catholic community and is dedicated to providing the finest ecclesiastical artwork that blends history and tradition with a growing and evolving faith.
